C6 – Caldwell 6 different colors

This closer view of billowing clouds of gas around the dying star at the center of the Cat’s Eye Nebula (Caldwell 6) was taken by Hubble’s Wide Field and Planetary Camera 2 in 1994. In this image, different colors are assigned to different wavelengths of light: red shows hydrogen, blue shows oxygen, and green shows nitrogen.
